Hanoi Trip 2013 - Day 3 - Halong Bay Trip Day 2

The Cruise start to cruise before i wake up. We serve with breakfast before any activity start today.
Today we will go Dao Ti Top Island, Van Gia fishing village for Kayak and Surprise (Song Sot) Cave located on Bo Hon Island.

Another Cruise

View of other cruise.

Video of Halong Bay. So many cruise around. Really feel like spoil the natural of Halong Bay. I think Vietnam government should have new law that limit number of tourist and Cruise at Halong Bay.

We need to this this boat to the Đảo Ti Tốp Island.

Đảo Ti Tốp

Đảo Ti Tốp Island

We need to conquer Đảo Ti Tốp Island Peak. We need to pay 5000 Dong to climb up to the peak.

On the way up to the peak. You can see how many cruise around.

Top of the peak view, actually we should have Halong Bay view, but end up with white cruise ship view rather.

After that, we go back down to the beach, many people swimming at the beach we not planning to do so. Actually do not ready bikini and swim wear.

Irish friend that we meet on Aclass cruise.

Van Gia Fishing Village
Van Gia fishing village. We will be coming here for Kayaking. Since is kayaking, so i keep my camera to prevent drop into the sea.

Hang Sửng Sốt (Cave of Surprise)
We need to take the small boat from the Cruise again.

View of entrance of the Cave.

View at exit of the cave.

OMG, someone sitting at there. You see the leg?

Floating market, on the way back to our boat.

On the way back to main land for transport to Hanoi. Do you see 2 bird kissing each other?

Aclass cruise.

After say bye bye to Aclass cruise, we transport back to our hostel in Hanoi.

Review of Aclass cruise
Consider mid class cruise with the pricing. Everything is clean and in order. All meal included, exclude drink. Food taste wise is more cater to westerner taste. I would prefer local Vietnam taste.

Hanoi - Dinner
After we reach Hanoi, we go to the shop opposite our hostel to have dinner. I do not see any tourist in the shop and the seller do not know english as well. Is more like a mix rice shop (Malaysia style) but order by dish as show in the picture above. I forget how much is cost but is not cheap according local standard. I suspect we been overcharge with tourist price.

After mix rice dinner, we go walk around and found some interesting food. We found some Chee Cheong Fun (chinese flat noodle with soy source) alike food but mix with fish source and other unknown ingredient. We do have problem ordering and understanding what is it as they do not speak english as well.

Unknown food.

After we have our dinner, we put most of our luggage at hostel storage, just bring necessary item only to Sapa. We will be hiking at Sapa for 4D3N, so should carry as light as possible. We go to train station by taxi, not far away from my hostel.

Caution, just ignore any people that provide help to you except the official worker of the train station. If you need help, should go and ask the officer that wearing uniform. I been scam by some stranger by guiding us to the berth of train. End up he request for money (USD10) from me after reaching my bed on train. I negotiation with him and give him USD5 before he willing to leave me. Actually he bring me to the wrong train berth and lucky the train officer guide me to the correct train berth.

This will be a 8 Hours train journey to Lau Cai before continue another hour Van journey to reach Sapa.

Sleeping berth for tourist is expensive but hotel class level. So is a wise decision to select this as 8 hours journey.

End of Day 3
